EVENT SUMMARY
To celebrate Conservation International’s 30th anniversary, WeLens coordinated and executed two of the largest synchronized wireless VR screenings to audiences 450 in order to showcase the organization’s success in their efforts to protect the Amazon Rainforest and endangered wildlife.
The events honored the likes of Harrison Ford and former President Bill Clinton, featuring performances by artists Jon Boogz and Lil’ Buck, as well as musician Vanessa Carlton, all of whom were able to experience the immersive film.
MY ROLE
I was tasked with managing all production details pertaining to the VR screenings, as there had never been a wireless and synced VR screening larger than 200 at that point. I had to source equipment sponsorship, restock inventory, coordinate logistics with the venue, technical teams, the client’s event managers, and build a team of 40 to properly distribute and execute the screening.
PROCESS
Contract negotiations / site visits / overseeing all software testing and QA / hiring contractors for VR headset distribution / mitigate project costs by securing 200 Samsung-sponsored VR devices and negotiating prices on inventory restock / manage all sponsored inventory as well as WeLens devices / task management & delegation / deliverable schedules / build run of show and floor plans / coordinate screening logistics across all production teams
